Integration

Data collected by ZENmetrics™ can be output in flat file format allowing integration approaches that do not depend on nor require a database, such as importing data into an Excel spreadsheet.

For extensive integration and analysis a database service is recommended.  ZENmetrics™ can accommodate multiple databases and integrate with a variety of business information systems.

Using open standards, persistent data stores and task scheduling a variety of solutions can be built:

  • a custom database query could be exposed as an RSS feed
  • a more complex solution might entail data streamed to a message queue for parsing by a separate application responsible for sending automated XML messages based on the data collected by ZENmetrics™ to a remote business process service on your network.

Data collection can be adjusted according to the requirements of your application, environment and business requirements.

Using ZENmetrics™ inbuilt task scheduling interface, or via the Raptor API, you are in control of the tasks, parameters, scope, interval and frequency of data collection.

Embedded (OEM)

The capabilities above provide an impressive value path for many applications. CMDB data is valuable, bringing that value into your applications, delivering services that leverage your CMDB data, is now possible.

The integration opportunities outlined above are further extended through the Raptor API.  The engine can be driven via scripts to perform tasks.  The tasks are templated enabling an extensible architecture upon which to add specialist niche capabilities.

413 Technologies can help you leverage CMDB data for your commercial applications to create and extend features to keep you ahead of the competition.

There are many scenarios to consider, here are a few:

  • a Human Resources tool that captures the login and logout of devices and the accounts that were used to do this as part of a professional services billing solution.
  • help support services staff perform more effectively - a service engineer can compare the current configuration of a user's device anywhere from anywhere with a history of the device's configurations during its network life in the CMDB, comparing it to similar devices to evaluate common problem elimination tasks such as
    • verify 'this' router's routing table has changed?
    • does 'this' server miss any patches?
    • does the entire site have 'this' script installed?
    • which devices does 'this' user log on to?
    • who last used 'this' software application, or who has not?
  • developing services to support a balanced scorecard from ITIL processes for RoI such as an accurate audit and valuation of your entire IT estate in real-time, to service level audits and KPIs integrated with open-standards business process suites.
